H&A provided planning, civil engineering, and survey and mapping services for the new Marriott Residence Inn located approximately 30-ft. above Olympic Parkway in Chula Vista. This 101,622 SF four-story structure consists of 148 guest rooms, coupled with an outdoor swimming pool and a prep kitchen. This property includes both public and private streets and utilities, bio-filtration basins, and a mechanically stabilized earth wall. Site plans and lot consolidation were also provided.
Project Challenge and Solution
Due to the location of the hotel above a major parkway, a large geogrid wall was constructed which contained an intricate utility design with connections to the street.
